In egg incubator or egg hatching machines temperature and humidity is two most critical factors .If these two factors are far outside the necessary range, the hatching rate will be lower and the chick won't emerge from the hatching eggs. There are therefore standard values that should remain within the egg incubator. Some machine manufacturers provide their own temperature and humidity values, which are close to the standard value range as given in Table 1

So you can set egg incubator values under standard range.

FAQs:-

Q1 : At what temperature should I set my egg incubator?

Ans : New incubators users can set egg incubator temperature according to Table 1  .  Some persons are setting machine temperature according to their place climate conditions or according to breed of chickens like kadaknath , desi species , who have experience of using egg incubator . But this difference is only +- 0.2 degree from standard values. So if you are using egg incubator for first time , set temperature and humidity value according to standard Table1.

Q2 : Is temperature and humidity is same as shown in Table  1 for different species of chicken like kadaknath , desi , etc.

Ans: Yes temperature and humidity is same .

Q3 : What is normal humidity range in egg incubator ?

Ans: Humidity is vary between 55% to 63% in setting period . And in hatching period , which is generally last 3 days of incubation cycle , it is varies between 68% to 80% according to type of birds.

Q4 : What if humidity is too high in incubator ?

Ans : There is a possibility that chicks won't hatch if incubator humidity is too high starting from day 1. This is because the air sacs in the eggs will become smaller. Because of the excessive humidity, the air sac that a chick needs to breathe becomes smaller, which prevents it from receiving enough oxygen when it is pipping.

Purchase a hatchpro brand egg incubator, and they will show you how to operate it. They will explain what temperature and humidity levels the machine should be set at.
